Ni Luh Puspa: Optimism for Indonesian Tourism in 2026
Indonesia’s Deputy Minister of Tourism, Ni Luh Puspa, emphasized the importance of a warm reception for tourists at the country’s airports, marking a key factor for tourism success in 2026. She welcomed the first flight of international tourists at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, highlighting that the first impression plays a crucial role in visitors’ desire to return. Attendees, including representatives from the Ministry of Tourism and airport management, greeted passengers of the ANA flight from Japan with traditional dances and gifts. The government believes that this approach will lay the foundation for further growth in tourist inflow and service quality enhancement. In 2025, Indonesia saw steady growth in the tourism sector with a 10% increase in tourist numbers compared to the previous year. It is projected that these figures will improve in 2026, with strategic plans to enhance tourist experience quality and develop sustainable tourism infrastructure.
