Indonesia Forecasts Significant Tourism Revenue Growth by End of 2025

Indonesia anticipates a substantial increase in tourism foreign exchange earnings, possibly reaching USD 18.5 billion by the end of 2025. By the end of the third quarter of this year, tourism revenue already stood at USD 13.82 billion, reflecting a growth of 9.42%. This optimistic projection is attributed to the growing interest in travel to Indonesia from both foreign and domestic tourists. Domestic tourism has also shown impressive results, with a projected 1.08 billion trips nationwide. The success of this sector is attributed to the wide range of attractions available, from stunning beaches to rich cultural heritage sites. The tourism sector significantly contributes to the country’s economy by encouraging not only foreign exchange earnings but also job creation, infrastructure improvements, and social welfare enhancement. The Indonesian government actively invests in improving tourism infrastructure and global market promotion to sustain this positive trend. Increased investment flows into the sector not only aid in developing tourism facilities but also promote sustainable regional development by attracting eco-tourism initiatives.
