Clash Between Persija and Persib Supporters in Sawangan
On the evening of Sunday, January 11, 2026, a clash occurred between the supporters of football clubs Persija and Persib in the Sawangan area, Depok, West Java. Reports indicate that dozens of Persija fans, known as The Jakmania, gathered at a house of Persib supporters, or Bobotoh, sparking a tense confrontation.
According to AKP Made Budi from Metro Depok Police, the incident took place during a match between Persija and Persib at GBLA Stadium in Bandung. The clash began when Persib fans launched fireworks, which were heard by Persija fans watching the match.
About 100 Persija supporters quickly responded by heading towards the house of Persib fans. The situation escalated when Persib supporters used fireworks in retaliation, leading The Jak to respond with stone-throwing. The police reported that the clash lasted around 15 minutes and was swiftly resolved by local police and military personnel.
Before the incident, The Jak fans witnessed Persib’s first goal at the Teras Singgah Café. This news sparked excitement, which rapidly turned into a physical confrontation, eventually contained by police intervention. The situation has since stabilized, with Persija fans leaving the premises. Police and military personnel remain on-site to maintain order.
