Bank Indonesia Promotes Love for Rupiah to Ensure Stability

In recent years, Indonesia has faced the weakening of the rupiah against the US dollar, raising concerns among the country’s economists. Deputy Head of Bank Indonesia’s representation in East Java Province, Rifki Ismal, emphasized the importance of strengthening the national currency’s stability as both an economic goal and as a symbol of national sovereignty. During a capacity-building event in Bandung, Rifki Ismal explained how both global and domestic factors necessitate increased consumption of local goods by Indonesians to reduce import dependency, thereby helping stabilize the rupiah.
