Prabowo Discusses Indonesia-US Trade Strategy

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto held a meeting with economic ministers at his residence in Hambalang. The focus was on preparing for upcoming economic talks with the United States. Prabowo emphasized that each agreement should maximize the benefits for national interests. The need for long-term cooperation was also highlighted to increase domestic industry productivity and strengthen Indonesia’s position in the global supply chain. Indonesia’s Finance Minister noted that the tariffs on Indonesian exports to the US had been reduced from 32% to 19%. The official signing of a reciprocal trade agreement between Prabowo and US President Donald Trump is expected on February 19, 2026.
