Prabowo: Global Negotiations Must Benefit Indonesia
On Sunday, February 15, 2026, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto held a meeting with key economic ministers at his residence in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java. Important figures present included Airlangga Hartarto, Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, Minister of Finance, and Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, Minister of Investment. The focus of the meeting was Indonesia’s strategy in global economic negotiations. Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that the President emphasized Indonesia’s position in international economic negotiations, particularly with the United States, to ensure it is the most beneficial for the country.
The President highlighted the importance of diplomatic steps being oriented toward the long-term strengthening of the national economy, including increasing the productivity of local industries. During the negotiations, the President expects an improvement in the productivity of the domestic industry and the supply chain, which will be beneficial for the entire nation.
The Secretary noted that the signing of a reciprocal tariff agreement with the USA is expected this month, which has been the outcome of long negotiations and includes, among other things, the reduction of tariffs on Indonesian goods and the increase in imports of energy and agricultural products from the USA.
