Batam Immigration Strengthens Control and Services

In 2025, Batam Immigration Office recorded impressive achievements, significantly surpassing targets. PNBP (Non-Tax State Revenues) amounted to IDR 136.61 billion, exceeding the target by 18.03%. These results demonstrate the effectiveness of immigration services aimed at improving migration quality and preventing illegal migration.
Head of Batam Immigration Office, Hajar Aswad, noted that the collective effort, community support, and inter-agency collaboration were key factors for success. The immigration service focused on preventing illegal migration and human trafficking, leading to 178 passport applications being denied due to suspicious nonprocedural use.
In 2025, over 5,659 departures were halted at various airports and ports, such as Batam Center, Sekupang, and Hang Nadim International Airport. This resulted from active efforts to increase public awareness through initiatives like the Foreigner Reporting Application, Golden Visa, and more.
In 2026, new initiatives are planned to improve conditions for residence permit and visa applications in Special Economic Zones (KEK). Emergency medical passports and thematic passports under the IM-pression program are also expected. These steps align with the Ministry of Immigration’s 15 target programs for 2026.
