Tourism in Manado on the Rise: Three New Flight Routes to Open

Manado, the capital of North Sulawesi, is preparing for a significant boost in international tourism with the opening of three new flight routes. These new routes are expected to attract more international tourists, which will support local economic growth and the development of the tourism sector. First on the list are flights from Shenzhen, scheduled to start in October 2025, followed by flights from Outer Mongolia with a layover in Guangzhou starting in November 2025. Finally, the Taipei-Manado route will commence in February 2026. The visit of 17 tourism industry representatives from various Asian countries, such as Taiwan and Shanghai, demonstrates the region’s interest in strengthening international tourism ties. It is important to note that local authorities are actively collaborating with various travel agencies to maximize the benefits of the new transportation links. These initiatives aim not only to increase the number of tourists but also to strengthen Manado’s position as a significant tourist hub in eastern Indonesia.
The increasing demand for tourists to visit the region’s natural attractions, cultural heritage, and unique marine landscapes makes Manado a popular destination for nature and culture lovers. The combination of efforts by the government and private sectors in tourism ensures that the city is ready to welcome a new wave of visitors, guaranteeing safety and quality service.
