Jakarta Tourism Shows Positive Trend

Jakarta’s tourism sector is showing steady growth, as highlighted by the Central Statistics Agency’s data. In recent years, hotel occupancy in Jakarta has remained stable, with a continuous increase in the number of foreign tourists. The average length of stay in starred hotels is 1-2 days for locals and longer for foreign guests.
According to Jakarta’s Head of the Department of Tourism and Creative Economy, Andhika Permata, these figures indicate the sector’s growth and resilience. The authorities aim to maintain this growth by adapting industry operations during periods such as Ramadan to balance economic activity with religious practices.
Regulations include certain requirements for business operations during sacred holidays to ensure harmony and orderliness. Violations are subject to strict sanctions.
The Department recently issued a new regulation aimed at coordinating tourism business operations during Ramadan and Idul Fitri. This document sets out rules for entrepreneurs to ensure not only commercial success but also adherence to social and cultural norms. Thus, Jakarta continues to strengthen its image as a global city and a leader in the national region.
With a focus on values of tolerance and social harmony, Jakarta directs its efforts towards sustainable tourism development, evidenced by increased international arrivals during peak seasons. This achievement emphasizes the importance of strategic planning and clear operational guidelines.
