Indonesia's Digital Development Plan Announced

Indonesia’s Ministry of Communication and Digital (Kemkomdigi) has unveiled a comprehensive plan for digital development titled ‘Arah Indonesia Digital’ as part of the Indonesia Emas 2045 vision. Minister Meutya Hafid emphasized the importance of fostering an inclusive and high-quality digital environment.
The plan focuses on three main aspects: connection, growth, and security. The connection aspect aims to provide affordable internet access by auctioning the 1.4 GHz radio frequency band, improving connectivity in various regions.
Regarding growth, the plan supports the development of a digital entrepreneurship ecosystem, empowerment of local businesses, enhancement of digital skills, and fostering a competitive environment.
For cybersecurity, the government collaborates with BSSN to safeguard data and prevent cybercrimes, including fraud and data breaches.
The minister emphasized the need for consolidated efforts between central and regional authorities to effectively implement this strategy.
