Cyber Attacks and Dependence on Foreign Technology Threaten Indonesia's Digital Sovereignty
In the age of digitalization, ensuring digital information sovereignty has become a key issue for Indonesia. The nation faces significant threats from massive cyber attacks and reliance on foreign technologies. Mario Ivan Romano, CEO of PT. Tri Kreasi Mandiri Teknologi (TKMT), expressed his concerns during the Digital Sovereignty Session held at the Indonesian National Armed Forces Headquarters in Jakarta. This meeting highlighted the need for cross-sector collaboration between government and private entities to strengthen national cybersecurity. With the increasing cyber attacks targeting the country’s social and political stability, Indonesia must develop a strategy focused on enhancing the local technological ecosystem. Public awareness and educational programs will be integral to this strategy, reducing reliance on foreign products and creating a safer digital future for Indonesia.
