Indonesia's Potential in the Global AI Landscape

Indonesia is drawing global attention from technology giants due to its potential in the AI market. This perspective was recently shared by Zoho Corporation’s CEO, Shailesh Kumar Davey, during an interview in Chennai, India. Davey believes that the AI industry hasn’t reached its peak, and many countries, including developing ones, have the opportunity to excel in this new domain.

Davey emphasizes that with access to knowledge and technology leveling the playing field, developing countries can play a significant role. He specifically highlights Indonesia as a country with substantial demographic potential. Between 2030 and 2045, Indonesia will experience a demographic bonus, with a predominant working-age population. This creates favorable conditions for Indonesia’s rapid integration into the global AI market.

This approach requires the maximal use of human resources, a point further stressed by Davey. Beyond sheer numbers, the qualification and readiness of specialists to adapt to cutting-edge technologies are vital.

Moreover, ManageEngine CEO Rajesh Ganesan highlighted the issue of cybersecurity in the context of AI implementation. He argues that AI could become both an offensive and defensive tool, and its full potential in the realm of security is yet to be realized. The crucial task for businesses is leveraging AI to combat the threats it creates.

In conclusion, AI’s development in Indonesia will depend on the country’s ability to educate and develop professionals and manage the security aspects associated with new technologies.
