Indonesia and Malaysia Collaborate on AI and Green Energy Research

A significant step has been taken to strengthen international scientific collaboration between Indonesia and Malaysia. The two countries have reached an agreement to jointly work on research in artificial intelligence and green energy. These efforts focus on addressing global challenges and enhancing scientific developments that benefit society.
Indonesia’s Minister of Education, Science, and Technology, Brian Yuliarto, and his Malaysian counterpart, Zambry Abdul Kadir, held an intergovernmental meeting where they agreed to solidify collaboration in key areas including food security and an economy based on renewable energy.
Brian Yuliarto emphasized the importance of this strategy to strengthen the cooperation between the two countries in innovation and research. He is confident that this joint research will accelerate development and the implementation of practical solutions useful for national and regional needs.
On the other hand, Malaysian minister Zambry highlighted the complementary nature of the scientific expertise of both countries and the critical need to optimize it through structured cooperation.
Further plans include creating working groups to facilitate research in priority sectors and involving organizations such as the Malaysia-Indonesia Academic Consortium (KAMI) to support joint initiatives. This cooperation will also involve several leading universities from both countries.
This move confirms the commitment to actively expanding international collaboration, increasing talent mobility, and ensuring that innovations have real significance for both national and international development.
