Head of BRIN Accelerates Development of Indonesia's Independent Space Technology
Arif Satria, the Head of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), has underscored Indonesia’s ambition to accelerate the establishment of an independent space technology sector. During his working visit to the M. Ibnoe Subroto Science Park, he discussed the readiness of research facilities, preparations for the launch of the A4 satellite, and the development of a spaceport as a strategic foundation for national technological sovereignty. Satria emphasized that not only physical infrastructure is crucial, but also clear governance and role distribution to effectively implement strategic programs. He further emphasized that only integrated and sustainable space technology functions can ensure success. Speaking of future plans, Satria highlighted the importance of improving the quality and intensity of scientific research and taking advantage of opportunities from foreign research grants.
