Prabowo Reacts to Survey on Indonesian Happiness
Indonesia’s President Prabowo Subianto expressed emotion over a global survey positioning Indonesia as the happiest nation in the world. Conducted by Harvard University and the research center Gallup across nearly 200 countries, the survey results were shared during a speech at the 2025 National Christmas Celebration. Prabowo highlighted that despite many Indonesians leading modest lives, this result is both surprising and touching to him. The research indicates that happiness levels are not solely dependent on economic prosperity. The President emphasized gratitude and national unity amid global uncertainties. Interestingly, Indonesia also tops the psychological well-being category, even when financial indicators are included. Researchers point out that elements such as health, social relationships, and life purpose significantly impact individuals’ life satisfaction.
