Prabowo Accuses Politicians of Exploiting Disasters

President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, made sharp accusations against certain politicians who, he claims, are pleased with disasters occurring in the country. Speaking at the inauguration of 1072 Nutrition Service Units (SPPG) throughout Indonesia on February 13, 2026, he stated that these politicians exploit crises to undermine trust in the government.

Prabowo highlighted that recent floods and landslides in the provinces of Aceh, North and West Sumatra have been a new challenge for the national authorities. He thanked all elements of society for their efforts in recovering from the devastating impact of these natural events. According to him, most of the affected regions have returned to normal life thanks to the coordinated work of national structures.

Pointing to the situation, Prabowo stressed that despite political speculations, Indonesia is capable of recovering from disasters due to internal solidarity and the joint efforts of all social layers. The President also mentioned that the task force received reports on 52 places affected by natural disasters, out of which only 10 continue to have issues. It is expected that all regions will fully recover within the next two months.
