Expert: Political Recruitment Evaluation Relies on Party Commitment

In light of the growing discussions on the need to enhance political recruitment standards in Indonesia, focus has been placed on the commitments of political parties. Executive Director of Indonesia Political Review, Iwan Setiawan, emphasized the importance of real commitment from parties to nominate qualified and highly integrated candidates for regional head positions. According to him, achieving these goals requires a revision of the current legislation on political parties and a profound reform. Highlighting the moral and material responsibility of parties, Setiawan argues that they must actively work to prevent corruption among future candidates.
