The article discusses the current state of Indonesia’s political system, highlighting its flaws. Indonesia is classified as a ‘flawed democracy’ with a democracy index that fell from 6.71 in 2022 to 6.44 in 2024. Many suggest that the political system in the country suffers from corruption and unfair practices. The author argues that to root out these issues, it is necessary to return to basic values such as honesty and responsibility that can be ingrained from childhood and developed through educational initiatives like those at Canisius School. Reevaluating political norms and teaching youth the right values can help change the current situation and lead to a healthier political culture.
