Indonesian Minister of Culture visits the grave of Alkhairaat's founder
On December 30, 2025, Indonesian Minister of Culture Fadli Zon visited the grave of the founder of the Alkhairaat Islamic educational institution in Palu city. This visit was to pay tribute to the notable contributions of Habib Idrus Bin Salim Aljufri, also known as Guru Tua. During the visit, the Minister discussed Guru Tua’s significant contributions to education and Islamic preaching in the eastern part of Indonesia.
After prayers at the cemetery, a meeting was held at Alkhairaat’s main office, where the ongoing initiatives and achievements of the organization in the educational field were discussed. Particularly, the growth in the number of madrasas and Islamic educational institutions that have now expanded not only in eastern Indonesia but also in Jakarta and Java were highlighted.
The Minister emphasized that efforts to preserve the nation’s cultural and historical values are ongoing. Future efforts include continuing the work to recognize outstanding historical figures of Indonesia, like SIS Aljufri, as national heroes.
