Minister of Culture on the Importance of Artistic Talent Mapping

January 11, 2026

In the global cultural era, Indonesia is actively exploring the potential of new data in the art sector. Recently, Minister of Culture Fadli Zon highlighted the importance of a systematic approach to talent discovery, emphasizing that a focus on an objective understanding of preferences is as important as finding talents for sustainable growth. According to him, talent assessment initiatives should be based on concrete information rather than assumptions, and a data-driven approach can open wide opportunities for collaboration. The minister also emphasized that research methods like ESQ Group’s Talent DNA approach can uncover hidden talents on a national level. Schools often have different preferences, so a comprehensive and increasingly practical approach will be more effective. The study covering more than 870 students is planned to become the basis for national cultural policy by 2026, useful for systematically integrating arts into educational programs and promoting the enrichment of local cultural components.
