Fadli Zon Awarded Honorary Professor by Universitas Nasional

During a ceremony held at Universitas Nasional in Jakarta, Indonesia’s Minister of Culture Fadli Zon was awarded the title of Honorary Professor. This prestigious academic title was granted for his significant contributions in the fields of culture, education, and national life. The university’s rector, El Amry Bermawi Putera, noted that this title serves as recognition of Fadli Zon’s outstanding achievements and invaluable contributions at both national and international levels.
In his cultural speech, Fadli Zon emphasized the importance of reinventing Indonesian identity amidst global changes. He expressed confidence that Indonesia’s cultural heritage could serve as a foundation for strengthening the national civilization. According to him, the country cannot merely be viewed as a modern nation-state but rather as a civilizational state built on ethnic diversity and cultural traditions.
The honorary professor title also recognized Fadli Zon’s long-standing academic and teaching career, as he is the author of over 40 books and numerous scientific articles. His efforts to preserve historical heritage through the establishment of libraries, museums, and cultural centers were also acknowledged.
Concluding his speech, Fadli Zon thanked for the trust placed in him and stressed that culture should be a fundamental element in Indonesia’s development and national unity strengthening.
