Indonesian Islamic Museum in Jombang Reopens
The Indonesian Islamic Museum KH Hasyim Asy’ari in Jombang, East Java, has reopened after extensive renovation. The trial opening period, from January 13 to 31, 2026, aims to improve the quality of cultural public services. Located within Pesantren Tebuireng, near the tomb of Indonesia’s fourth president, KH Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur), the museum now offers more informative and user-friendly exhibits. Museum head Indira Esti Nurjadin highlighted that the revitalization includes renovations on the first two floors, the addition of new thematic zones, and enhanced historical narratives. The trial, conducted to ensure a safe, comfortable, and educational visitor experience, precedes the museum’s official reopening on February 1, 2026. The new appearance of MINHA not only preserves historical artifacts but also acts as a cultural dialogue space and a center for learning about Indonesia’s Islamic heritage.
