Celebrating Cultural Richness of Minangkabau: Premiere of the 'Adaik Suluah Nagari' Exhibition

The National Museum of Indonesia hosted the ‘Adaik Suluah Nagari’ exhibition, focusing on the cultural heritage of the Minangkabau. The exhibition’s name translates to ‘Custom as the Beacon of Values, Guardian of the Nation’s Honor.’ The Ministry of Culture organized this event as part of its program to promote regional cultural heritage. Indonesian Minister of Culture, Fadli Zon, inaugurated the exhibition, stressing that it serves not just as a ceremonial event but as a reflection of Indonesia’s diverse ethnic traditions. The exhibition is a pivotal platform for showcasing Minangkabau artifacts, including building miniatures, traditional clothing, and jewelry. These items carry significant cultural values that help preserve national identity, noted Zon. He emphasized that successful execution should serve as a model for other museums in the nation to enhance their management strategy and presentation methodologies.
