Halimah Munawir Promotes Cultural Diplomacy Between Indonesia and Egypt

Prominent literary and cultural figure Halimah Munawir is enhancing cultural diplomacy between Indonesia and Egypt through the ‘Titian Muhibah’ initiative. This effort aims to strengthen bilateral relations that have been established since the era of Indonesia’s first president. Munawir shared her vision during a meeting with Egypt’s Education and Cultural Attaché Abdul Mutawali at the ‘HMA Cultural House’ in Bogor. She believes that cultural diplomacy is crucial for fostering harmony between nations. Beyond the legacy of Nobel laureate Naguib Mahfouz, Egyptian culture is renowned for the Cairo Opera House, a beacon of world-class art. Munawir emphasized the importance of building cultural bridges between Indonesia and Egypt. Relations between Egypt and Indonesia have flourished since President Sukarno’s administration, enriching fields such as education, religion, and culture.
