US Visa Applications Suspended for 75 Countries

Starting from January 21, 2026, the United States will temporarily suspend the processing of immigrant visas for 75 countries. This decision, based on the ‘America First’ policy, aims to tighten immigration controls and prevent overburdening the welfare system. Among these countries are Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia, close neighbors of Indonesia. The move is intended to prevent new immigrants from becoming dependent on public assistance. The changes only affect immigrant visas and do not include tourist, business, or student visas. Despite the changes, the interest in traveling to the US is expected to remain high as the country prepares to host major international events such as the 2026 World Cup and the 2028 Olympics.
