Maybank and Visa to Host 2026 Marathon in Bali

Maybank Indonesia, in collaboration with Visa, has announced the date for the Maybank Marathon 2026, set to take place on August 23, 2026, at the Bali United Training Center in Gianyar, Bali. This marathon, which has earned the prestigious ‘World Athletics’ Elite Label Road Race’ designation, marks a significant event in Indonesia. Stefano Ridwan, President Director of Maybank Indonesia, emphasized the event as a part of their mission ‘Humanising Financial Services’, focusing on sustainable lifestyle advocacy and positive social impact. Visa has joined as the title sponsor, highlighting the elevation of this event to new heights.

The Maybank Marathon contributes to international sports tourism, enhancing economic and social influence in the hosting region while showcasing Bali’s beauty to a broad audience. This strategic partnership with Visa reinforces the values and impact of the event. Vira Widiyasari, Visa Indonesia’s Country Manager, noted that sports act as a bridge connecting people and driving local economic growth.

Project Director Bambang Irawan assured that the event will meet international standards, enhancing safety and support levels, and creating a unique and meaningful experience for all participants. The event will stand as a testament to sustainability and environmental friendliness, expected to inspire more attention to socio-environmental issues. Participants can compete in Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10K categories, with special categories for wheelchairs and children.

In preparation for the Maybank Marathon 2026, the company has planned a ‘Road to Maybank Marathon’ series of events from April to August 2026 in various major cities across Indonesia. These events will include both running workouts and educational seminars on first aid.
