Bali, known for its picturesque landscapes and cultural diversity, has always attracted numerous tourists, especially during the holiday season. However, in 2025, rumors emerged about a decrease in tourist numbers on the island during the New Year’s holidays. These rumors started spreading through various social media, causing concern among local entrepreneurs and tourism organizations.

Indonesia’s Tourism Minister, Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, denied this information, stating that Bali remains one of the top destinations for both local and foreign tourists. She noted that while some tourists might choose to visit other places like Surabaya or Sumatra, interest in Bali remains significant.

During a recent inspection at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, the minister noted the increase in flights to Bali and mentioned that the airport is experiencing a 2% increase in passenger services, especially during the New Year holidays. This indicates a steady interest and supports optimism regarding tourist activity on the island.

Additionally, the Director of PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia, Muhammad Rizal Pahlevi, also confirmed the growth in aviation traffic and passenger flow, reflecting renewed interest in trips to Bali during the holiday season.

Thus, despite the rumors, Bali remains an attractive and popular destination for tourists, contributing to the growth of Indonesia’s tourism and economy.
