Kemenpar: Maintain Indonesia's Image Without Profiting from BTS Concert

Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism has urged all parties not to seek excessive profits from the potential visit of the world-famous group BTS as part of their 2026-2027 world tour. Acting Deputy for Event Development Vinsensius Jemadu called for fair business practices, claiming that excessive pricing could negatively impact the country’s tourism image. He also appealed to local authorities and industry partners to stay vigilant and provide safe and comfortable conditions for tourists. Jemadu believes that the BTS phenomenon can attract significant attention and a large number of visitors to Indonesia, but it is important to avoid excessive hype, especially in accommodation and transportation sectors. It is recommended to keep prices reasonable and controlled, as price hikes could make the country less attractive to tourists. Jemadu cited the Australian F1 races as an example, where hotels raised prices but within reasonable limits. He also emphasized the importance of preventing scalping, similar to what occurred during the MotoGP event in Indonesia.
