Indonesia Attracted Nearly 14 Million Foreign Tourists in 2025

In 2025, Indonesia achieved remarkable success, welcoming around 13.98 million foreign tourists from January to November. This 10.44% increase from the previous year highlights the nation’s significance as a tourist destination. The market leaders are tourists from Malaysia, Australia, Singapore, China, and Timor Leste. Key airports such as Ngurah Rai in Bali and Soekarno-Hatta in Jakarta remain the most popular entry points. The focus lies not only on quantitative achievements but also on qualitative improvements to further industry growth, including competition with neighboring regions through an expanded network and targeted advertising. While Indonesia has successfully expanded its tourism appeal, it is notable that 61% of domestic tourism is concentrated on Java. This points to the need for diversification of tourist destinations beyond the island of Java. Sustaining growth requires attention to enhancing the diversity of offerings and improving tourist routes nationwide.
