Indonesia Aims for 17.6 Million Tourists in 2026

Indonesia’s Minister of Tourism, Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, unveiled ambitious targets for increasing the number of international tourists visiting the country. The aim for 2026 is set at 17.6 million visitors. Speaking at the National Assembly meeting of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Minister highlighted that with the support of a strengthening economic recovery and Indonesia’s growing prominence on the world tourism map, visitor numbers are expected to rise. For 2025, the forecast is 15.3 million tourists, slightly below pre-pandemic levels. Domestic tourism also shows a significant increase in trips, potentially reaching 1.5 billion by 2029…
