Indonesian President Prabowo Accelerates Waste Processing Technology Development

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has initiated an acceleration in waste processing technologies. He has called on universities, local governments, and relevant ministries to collaborate on this issue. Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto reported this after a meeting at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on February 11, 2025. Prabowo emphasized the importance of both waste-to-energy conversion and micro-scale waste processing technologies developed in universities. The Danantara Investment Fund will be involved in mass-producing these technologies. Initial tests of these technologies will begin in several cities in collaboration with local governments.
