Prabowo: Disaster aid must be transparent and without interests
President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, emphasized the importance of transparency and lack of personal interests in the process of providing aid to those affected by natural disasters in Sumatra. He stated that the state provides ample opportunities for citizens wishing to contribute, but under the condition of strictly following established procedures.
During a meeting focused on building accommodations for those affected, Prabowo noted that every initiative must pass through official channels to ensure that aid reaches those who need it. He cited the example of diaspora involvement, urging them to act according to laws and regulations.
Prabowo added that the government not only accepts help but also strictly monitors its distribution to avoid problems associated with non-transparent procedures. He stressed that aid must be sincere and selfless, with no hidden intentions or obligations.
