Indonesian Attorney General Strengthens Commitment to Legal Reform and Corruption Eradication

The visit of Indonesia’s Attorney General, ST Burhanuddin, to East Kalimantan marked a significant event in strengthening legal reforms and anti-corruption efforts. Under his guidance, important meetings were held with local authorities to discuss strategies aimed at improving the image of the prosecution office.
In his addresses, Burhanuddin praised the work of the East Kalimantan prosecutor’s office, highlighting their contributions to developing a professional legal system. Particular attention was paid to the successful budget execution, which reached 97.12% in 2025, emphasizing the importance of transparency and accountability in financial management.
Burhanuddin urged for the resolution of backlog cases and the optimization of state funds recovery, focusing on major corruption cases exceeding 18 billion Rupiah. The Attorney General instructed to be actively involved in overseeing national and regional strategic projects.
He also emphasized the importance of controlling illegal activities in forestry and mining sectors, considering the region’s rich resources.
