Ahead of Ramadan, Indonesia to Receive Two Categories of Social Aid: Money and Rice!

As Ramadan approaches, Indonesia’s Ministry of Social Affairs has confirmed the preparation of two key social aid programs aimed at supporting vulnerable populations and maintaining purchasing power. The first program, known as the Family Hope Program (PKH), provides financial assistance. The second, the Non-Cash Food Assistance Program (BPNT), offers food supplies, primarily rice. A total budget of 17.5 trillion rupiahs has been allocated for these programs.

Gus Ipul emphasized the importance of accuracy in aid delivery to ensure it reaches those in need. Updating the recipient database is one method for ensuring correct distribution. Citizens can initiate data verification through local administrations or a special application to check their aid recipient status.

Additionally, a 24-hour contact center has been established to assist people with any questions or issues related to the aid programs. In the future, a WhatsApp channel will also be available to further simplify access to information. This initiative highlights the government’s commitment to transparency and data accuracy, ensuring real support reaches those who genuinely need it.
