Optimism in Economy and Politics: Results of New Survey in Indonesia

On February 13th, 2026, a new survey conducted by Indonesia’s Political Indicator was released in Jakarta, indicating improvement in the country’s economic and political sectors. With President Prabowo Subianto at the helm for 17 months, public opinion has become increasingly positive, reflecting the ruling stability of the nation and growing trust among citizens regarding government policies.
The survey titled ‘Public Perception of the President’s Performance and Free Nutritional Meal Program’ was based on face-to-face interviews with 1,220 respondents from across Indonesia. Featuring a confidence level of 95% and a margin of error of 2.9%, the findings present a strong indicator of national sentiment toward government performance and the country’s status.
Rizka Halida, the Chief Analyst at Indonesia’s Political Indicator, noted a significant optimistic shift in public sentiment over the past 17 months. Respondents are increasingly acknowledging stable improvements in the economy, with 35.5% categorizing the national economic condition as good or very good. Concurrently, the number of those believing the economy is in bad shape is decreasing.
Moreover, the political situation is highly rated, with 34.2% of respondents deeming it good. Emphasizing political stability plays a crucial role in enduring and enhancing development.
The data confirms the effectiveness of political consolidation and the administration’s legitimacy in the eyes of the people. In security, 57.2% of respondents consider it to be good or very good. It highlights success in maintaining order and security, which are critical for economic growth and social activity.
Despite the generally positive outlook, public aspirations include strengthening control over basic commodity prices, expanding employment, reducing poverty, and continuing anti-corruption efforts. Overall, the survey results affirm that the country is moving in the right direction, gaining increasing public support.
