PDIP as a Balancer: Main Political Agenda
PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) officially declared its role as a balancing force for the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka government. During the National Working Meeting I held in Ancol, Jakarta, the party confirmed its commitment to pro-people policies, rejecting regional elections via DPRD, and pushing for systemic reforms in political and legal spheres.
Megawati Soekarnoputri, the leader of PDIP, clarified that this is not a neutral position, highlighting the party’s role as a guarantor of constitutional governance.
Four main approaches were outlined by the PDIP Central Council leader, Puan Maharani: critical, smart, solutions-oriented, and people-centric, becoming the foundation for all party members.
PDIP also advocates for reforms in the national political system and supports increasing electoral transparency through the adoption of electronic voting.
The focus on security force reforms includes enhancing the professionalism of TNI and Polri as a prerequisite for successful democratic transformation.
PDIP continues to constructively criticize government actions, such as the reduction in regional transfer funds and raising issues of sustainable development amid ecological challenges.
