UMY Officially Establishes CSIRT for Cyber Incident Response

In the era of digital transformation spanning across sectors, including education, institutions much prepare for cyber threats. The University Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) has officially established a Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT), marked by receiving a registration certificate from the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN). This establishment makes UMY the third university among Muhammadiyah and ‘Aisyiyah universities in Indonesia to officially establish such a team. During the certificate handover ceremony, CSIRT head, Dr. Nur Hayati, explained that forming CSIRT is a strategic move to build a reliable information security system within the university. Strategies include strengthening information security and fostering inter-agency collaboration.
