Active Discussion in Economic Development Learning in Indonesia

At MTsN 6 Bantul, the Social Science learning process for Class 8A has become more interactive and engaging. The teachers decided to implement a discussion-based method to explore the topic of ‘Economic Development in Indonesia.’ Participants were divided into four groups, each responsible for specific aspects of the discussion and included a leader, a secretary, an evaluator, and journalists. This role distribution is aimed at nurturing responsibility, teamwork, and communication skills among students. During the session, participants exchanged views on various aspects of economic development, its impact on society, and the challenges faced by Indonesia in achieving sustainable and equitable economic growth.
