Promoting Sharia Economy as the Mainstream of National Economy

Indonesia’s Sharia economy has seen significant advancements in recent years. The national strategy aims to further this trend, striving to increase the contribution of Sharia sectors to 56.11% of the country’s GDP by 2029. In 2026, Rosan Roeslani was elected as the chairman of MES, strengthening hopes for enhancing Sharia economy’s status. Investment in the halal sector reached $1.6 billion in 2025, showcasing active financial involvement. Nevertheless, Sharia economy faces challenges, primarily the need for paradigm shifts and the advancement of knowledge. This is crucial for Sharia economy to compete with the conventional economy, which remains dominant.
