Indonesia and France Strengthen Partnership in Science and Education

During the Bastille Day celebration held at the French Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia and France affirmed their commitment to strengthen strategic cooperation in areas such as science, technology, and education. At the event, held at the Raffles Hotel, Stella Christie, Indonesia’s Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, highlighted that these relations have entered a new phase. French President Emmanuel Macron’s visit to Indonesia in May 2025 marked a significant milestone in bolstering ties. A key outcome of the visit was the signing of the Joint Declaration 2050, reflecting the two countries’ commitment to a peaceful and prosperous future. The focus is primarily on science and technology, where the nations aim to develop joint programs and student exchanges. Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto also attended the Bastille Day in Paris, underscoring the importance of bilateral relations.
