Indonesia’s Culture Minister Fadli Zon visited the megalithic sites at Lore Lindu in Poso. His focus was on the importance of protecting and developing this prehistoric heritage. It was emphasized that such efforts are crucial for preserving the nation’s cultural identity, as well as sustaining tourism and attracting international attention to Indonesia’s unique cultural heritage. Lore Lindu is home to some of the most significant archaeological sites, embedded within a rich natural environment, making them particularly important for research and study. The Minister stressed that international recognition of these sites could help draw more resources and raise awareness of the site’s cultural significance. There were calls for a more active role for local communities in preserving this heritage, as well as investments in educational programs to inspire younger generations to continue these efforts.
