Cultural Minister Visits the Tomb of Alkhairaat Islamic School Founder

On December 30, 2025, Indonesia’s Minister of Culture, Fadli Zon, visited the tomb of Habib Idrus Bin Salim Aljufri, also known as Guru Tua, the founder of the Alkhairaat Islamic School in Palu. This event aimed not only to honor a significant figure in Islamic education but also to strengthen cultural ties within the country. During the visit, the Minister was informed by the head of Alkhairaat about Guru Tua’s vital contributions to educational development in eastern Indonesia. The meeting also served as a platform to discuss the potential recognition of Guru Tua as a national hero. Alkhairaat continues to expand, extending its educational institutions not only in eastern Indonesia but also in Jakarta and other parts of Java. At the end of the visit, Alkhairaat representatives presented commemorative gifts to the Minister, emphasizing the importance of continued collaboration in education and culture.
