SUN Energy Expands EBT Business in Indonesia
SUN Energy, a solar energy company in Indonesia, has announced a significant expansion of its renewable energy business. The focus is on the CBESS project aimed at reducing carbon emissions in industrial sectors and advancing energy storage technology. CEO Emmanuel Jefferson Kuesar highlighted the role of technology in accelerating decarbonization. In 2026, the company will focus not only on solar energy but also on developing storage systems like BESS. Special attention is given to energy-intensive industrial sectors. The integration of generation, storage, and energy management systems ensures both supply reliability and emission efficiency. In 2025, SUN Energy successfully implemented its CBESS system in the mining industry, marking the first of its kind in Indonesia. The project is developed in collaboration with PT Cipta Kridatama, a subsidiary of PT ABM Investama Tbk. Collaborations across ecosystems gain additional momentum through cooperation with various industrial zones. These initiatives provide comprehensive energy management from the source to usage, including in electric vehicle fleets and infrastructure. To date, SUN Energy has installed solar power plants for over 20 clients in three industrial zones in Indonesia. With a global experience, the company operates projects with a total capacity of 420 MW, contributing to an annual reduction of 506 million kg of CO₂ emissions.
