VFS Global Warns Travellers of Visa Scams

As interest in international travel among Indonesians grows, VFS Global warns against increasing visa scam incidents. The company has received numerous reports of fake appointment letters and illegal fees for priority visa processing. Ahead of the peak mid-year holiday visa application season, travelers are urged to stay vigilant. Simon Peachey, COO of VFS Global, notes that the rising demand for visa appointments has led to more fraudulent activities. Scammers offer expedited visa approvals for upfront payments, falsely linking these services to VFS Global. However, Simon clarifies that VFS Global cannot influence visa processing times set by embassies. “We cannot provide real-time updates or guarantee fast-track visas,” he emphasized. The company also reminds that appointment scheduling is free and must be done through the official website or designated government portals. Travelers should also be cautious about job offers abroad, as scammers sometimes use the name VFS Global to offer illegal services.
