Indonesians Granted Visa-Free Transit Opportunity through China

December 21, 2025
1 min read

Starting June 12, 2025, Indonesian citizens can take advantage of the expanded visa-free transit opportunities through China. These changes allow Indonesian travelers to remain in the country for up to 240 hours without obtaining a visa. The inclusion of Indonesians in the transit visa waiver policy marks a significant simplification in travel, potentially boosting tourism and business exchanges between the two countries.

This policy now covers 55 countries, and specific requirements can be checked on the National Immigration Administration’s website. As changes may occur, it is recommended to obtain the latest information by contacting the 24-hour hotline.

Visa-free transit travel opens up new opportunities not only for tourists but also for businesspeople, easing business travels and strengthening economic and social ties. China, as one of Indonesia’s main partners, plays a key role in regional development, and these adjustments may further enhance cooperation.
