Increase in Indonesia's Tourism Revenue in 2025
Indonesia has seen a significant increase in tourism revenue during the 2025-2026 New Year holiday period, aided by extended holidays and favorable weather conditions. Bali province once again topped the list with hotel occupancy in key areas over 85%, and top attractions like Tanah Lot and Garuda Wisnu Kencana contributed significantly to regional income.
Yogyakarta and Central Java also reported positive performance with places like Malioboro and Borobudur attracting many visitors, showing a revenue increase by tens of percent compared to the previous year. Major theme parks, including Ancol and Dunia Fantasi in Jakarta and Jatim Park in East Java, recorded high visitor numbers, greatly boosting their revenues.
Even regions with natural attractions, like Labuan Bajo and Lake Toba, have seen increased interest among tourists. The Ministry of Tourism states that these positive trends signal an economic recovery, with tourism acting as a key driver for national growth. It is hoped that improvements in service quality and infrastructure will sustain this positive trend in the future.
