Central Java Surpasses Bali in Tourism Revenue
Contrary to expectations, Central Java has emerged as the leading province in Indonesia for tourism revenue, surpassing the renowned island of Bali. Recent studies indicate that Central Java generated 2.77 trillion rupiah in revenue, while Bali amassed 2.56 trillion rupiah. Despite Bali’s historical status as the country’s top tourist destination, Central Java attracts visitors with a diverse range of natural and cultural attractions. Experts believe that Central Java’s success is attributed not only to quality tourist sites but also to the effective integration of the region’s tourism resources. The government encourages other regions to follow suit by developing tourism networks focused on long-term growth. This could aid in balancing tourist influxes and contribute to the economic development of lesser-known areas.
