Kemenperin Boosts Semiconductor Industry Development

The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) is actively promoting the development of the semiconductor industry in Indonesia to strengthen technological self-sufficiency. Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita emphasized that the development of a national semiconductor ecosystem is a strategic task. This is not a new agenda, but Kemenperin has been working on it consistently for the past five years, starting with participation in the Hannover Messe conference in 2023. Additionally, collaboration has been established with the Indonesia Chip Design Collaborative Center (ICDeC), which focuses on the development of human resources and technologies in the field of integrated circuits. Plans for developing the semiconductor industry are included in the national development plan, highlighting their strategic importance for the country’s future.
