Indonesia and Turkey Strengthen Defense Technology Collaboration

Indonesia’s Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin visited Turkey as part of his official tour to discuss strategic collaboration reinforcement with the Turkish Defense Minister and Chief of General Staff. The key focus is on developing defense industries, enhancing human capital, and strengthening inter-agency relations.

Sjamsoeddin views cooperation with Turkey as a strategic move for Indonesia to bolster national defense independence and support sustainable defense industry growth. The bilateral meeting included a comprehensive review of Turkey’s defense industry capabilities, featuring companies like ASELSAN, to explore future collaboration opportunities.

Both countries agreed to maintain intensive communications to ensure the successful implementation of defense initiatives and support regional stability.
