In Jakarta, a fraudulent scheme was uncovered in the PEER-TO-PEER platform Dana Syariah Indonesia (DSI). According to the Indonesian National Police’s Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri), investor funds were diverted to affiliate companies’ accounts and fake projects. Bareskrim’s director, Ade Safri Simanjuntak, stated these transactions were controlled by DSI’s management, breaching regulatory norms. Due to these violations, DSI faces accusations of regulatory breaches and illegal use of lender data. The company collected funds amounting to 7.478 trillion rupiahs from 2021 to 2025, with 1.2 trillion still outstanding to investors.
